The humor nature of his description of the "debt building " in the US is both relevant and funny. but his comment on global warming is sadly illeterate and stupid.

I personaly know more about global warming then i do about the complicated matters of debt and tresury bill , though i've been reading so much more lately about the latter , yet i think the next world crisis less then a decade in the making will come from global warming, and i fear it won't be so much the financial impact as the survival impact on humanity that will change the very face of the world.

We all talk so much about the artic meltdown but much less about antartica , yet that's the worst problem we face. Most industrial and economic activities goes on in the northern hemispere that's why it's melting down faster up north then south.

But the worl is one, and there is no wall barriers at the equator , not denying a lesser rate of heat exchange between north and south hemispheres then between east and west for the obvious reason of the earth rotation. Both the air and the seas are warming and nobody will laugh either in New-York or L.A. when the water gets in the streets .

Scientist predicted the total meltdown of the artic during summer for the end of the century only 3 or 4 years ago, now they predict it around 2020 - 2030 and yet it's still accelerating and like everything else, as for the actual financial crisis for exemple, many private interest we well know, are diverting our attention the other way.

So when we'll know the real time frame and impact of antartica melting down some poor fellows will already have drowned under 60 feet of water or more or more .

I remember reading canadian papers in january 2008 telling us we would avoid any recession in this country and bragging abou t$Cdn and TSX going up, Yet at the time i was telling some of my friends we were already in recession ( maybe not technicaly for whateve the definition you want to use ) but very concretely in terms of seeing it coming our way unavoidably the train was coming for all who were looking and listening.

The papers were telling us at the same time how major financial institution abroud were writing off major stakes caused by their financial involvment in commercial papers, even here i could'nt believe my ears when i read the Caisse de dépot owned more then a third of all Canadian commercial papers and the CEO of the caisse telling us they were writing off only $1.5 Billion dollars of those assets out of $13 billion now the Caisse has written down $6 billion of them in the worst Canadian financial blunder of it's history for a total mismanagement of $40 billion total in 2008 twice as much as it's couterpart the Ontario pension fund. As we know a couple of months later mr. Rousseau criticised POW for it's " Bicephale " management and of course only a couple of months later he was himself hired by POW !!!

( Meanwhile me with so many others are left with a quarter less of our pension plan and looking at a major rise in the next future of our "cotisation ( pardon my french) our income taxes, inflation, future taxes and what else ... And that guy left whitout even an apology !!! what nerves and i'm not saying what realy comes to my mind considering he and his overpaid staff has left me looking at very a brim future working for maybe what will be worth years from now 75% of what i was earning last year.)

I still read the very same influantial papers but they they are much more alarmist now in terms of the economy outlook and they don't say much about global warming ... It's all about the fashion of the day but reality does'nt change and that other train is still coming

One must understand the interest behind what's written and what's not written. I fear global warming more then i do the present situation and sarcasm made out of contempt or maybe ignorance won't change my opnion knowing who made the comments.

It's just an opinion anyway and the truth if any such thing exist is far beyond me.
