HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA--(Marketwire - Sept. 24, 2009) - Ucore Uranium Inc. (TSX VENTURE:UCU - News) is pleased to announce the most recent results of pre-drill program surface sampling at the Bokan-Dotson Ridge Rare Earth project in southeast Alaska. The samples are a combination of grabs and channels collected from the REE - prospective Dotson Trend east of Bokan Mountain, an area which is the primary focus of the Company's recently commenced drill program. The purpose of the sampling program is to characterize surface mineralization and further delineation of the most prospective targets for drilling. As reported in Ucore's press release of September 10, 2009, drilling has commenced at Bokan-Dotson Ridge on a 24/7 basis, with a target of 2000 linear metres of which more than 900 metres has already been completed.

A summary of selected assay results are listed below:

"Bokan - Dotson Ridge continues to provide high grade samples over a significant surface area," said Jim McKenzie, President and CEO of Ucore. "The wide distribution of sample locations in multiple zones along the same structural trend support the theory of a major rare earth-mineralized system. What's more, the sampling continues to evidence unusually high concentrations of HREO to as high as 17%, and TREO to as high as 18%. These are among the highest grade REE surface samples recorded by a western REE deposit, with initial drill core assays expected in as little as two weeks."

Ucore has additionally contracted with Precision Geosurveys Inc. for a low level, high resolution, magnetic survey of the entire REE-prospective area. Ucore's geologists have identified ground magnetic anomalies coincident with known REE mineralization, and such a geophysical signature may be aligned with other surface indicators to enhance drill targeting.

Bokan - Dotson Ridge comprises a southeast-trending structural corridor of multiple rare earth prospects radial to the southeast margin of the Bokan Mountain peralkaline intrusive complex. Samples reported in this press release consist of grabs of variably mineralized and sheared granitic outcrop collected along the Dotson Trend between the I&L Zone, which is proximal to Bokan Mountain, and the more distal Geoduck and Cheri Zones south of Kendrick Bay, a total strike length of over five kilometres.

Ucore's 2009 field program comprises geologic mapping and structural interpretation methodologies, magnetic and radiometric survey techniques, as well as portable X-Ray fluorescence and short wave UV technology to select the best rare earth targets for the current drill program. Although the presence of rare earths at Dotson Ridge was first reported in the 1950's, this will be the first season where rare earths are the prime exploration focus.

NI 43-101 Compliance

Surface samples were collected by professional members of Ucore's exploration team. The site of each surface sample was recorded and described and the sample given a unique number. The samples were transported by commercial freight carriers to the Activation Laboratories analytical facility in Ancaster, Ontario, Canada and the EcoTech-Stewart Group analytical facility in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. As part of a rigorous QA/QC program, blanks, standards, and duplicates were inserted into the sample train in the field and in the laboratory. Analyses were by a combination of inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry and X-ray fluorescence. Insufficient structural information is available to make a conclusive statement on structure. Harmen Keyser, P.Geol. (NWT), Ucore's Vice President of Project Development and a qualified person in accordance with NI 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical content of this press release.
