Coincidentally in todays' edition of the Chicago Tribune this rather timely news article appeared . It sort of explains the situation in our area with respect to asian carp:

So for all you fishermen out there, just tell your wives, " Mama get the fryin' pan ready cause their on their way North !" Somehow I just can't get enthused about the idea of having a shore lunch consisting asian carp rather than pickeral. Yuch!
