Canadians blocked allowed the merger of Falconbridge and Inco, but had no reservations whatsoever about selling them. We had no reservations whatsoever with selling Alcan, after giving it insane concessions to exist. We basically have no national resource or energy policy -have had none since the Trudeau era. It's a bit scary being Canadian. Politicians are every bit as bad as American ones in many ways.
Hate to admit it but I envy the Chinese trade and energy policy system. At least they have a plan.
