I think that a newspaper article I read a day late today has to do with the rise.

There was a good write up on Victoria Gold in the Wednesday Yukon News. Not sure why it doesn't seem to be on their web version -maybe they'll post it soon.
Highlights:

-emphasis on the fact that Kinross owns 19% of the company. emphasis on the fact that it shares personnell links with Kinross.
-background/history of Chad Williams, CEO
-backiground of VP John McConnell
-emphasis on their desire to go into production by 2013:
-up from 2.7 million ounces to 4.3 million ounces reserves on one year (doesn't say category)Dublin Gulch.
- emphasis on cheap available power to be created by the new Mayo "B" hydroelectric expansion: feasibility was done on much more expensive diesel power generation assumptions.
- Victoria's intention to build a year round camp at their property so they can be "the first one in, and last one out" every year, and get more drilling done.
- CEO's opinion that worldwide gold supply/demand equation looks good because the amount of ounces produced worldwide will decline over the next several years.
