Leading fertilizer wholesaler and retailer Agrium reported a strong quarter, thanks to an impressive fundamental outlook for the agricultural and crop nutrient market.
The company's net earnings were $57 million for the quarter, versus $26 million in the year-ago quarter. Revenues came in at $2 billion, compared with $1.8 billion the year-ago quarter. And in a release, Mike Wilson, the company's CEO, remarked,
"We believe the outlook for Agrium's products and businesses are as good as they have ever been, supported by excellent fundamentals for the agricultural and crop input markets."
