It has come to my attention of a decision made by IIROC (http://tmx.quotemedia.com/article.php?newsid=39404029&qm_symbol=ADV), where by an arbitrary price change has been made on the Venture exchange deeming all activity prior to a specific time as being unreasonable.
Although I am in no way directly affected by this decision, I am compelled to ask on what basis does IIROC have the jurisdiction to overturn free market trades? On what basis was it decided that it was necessary? What was the cause of this occuring? What steps are taken so that this type of situation does not occur.
I am gravely concerned when a government organization takes such a step since it reflects a lack of integritty in either the exchanges ability to ensure the market is functioning correctly and a willingness to for a government agency to intervene in what may be a recurring error in their systems.
A full enquiry should be made and reported to investors using this exchange.
