Through all this gold versus money discussion I nave been seeking an alternative and have settled on - POTATOES. They are easily produced in even the poorest of areas, are relatively long lasting and as a last resort, provide nutrition. And instead of carting a few hundred kilos of spuds into a dealership to buy your next car you could deliver your sacks to a controlled atmoshere depository and in return get a coloured piece of paper that represented so many kilos of potatoes.....ooh, I see where this is headed!
