What we have here is a statement that could be construed as slightly oxymoronic.

If one were to rot then it would be a little difficult to, 'and burn.' If one were to burn first then there would be little left to rot, 'ashes to ashes etc.' I suppose one could rot then burn after the rotting has been completed, but I wouldn't think there would be much left to burn. I do believe that any simultaneity of these two actions would be well nigh impossible. Of course all this pre-supposes the existence of hell.
