CME just hiked gold margins by 21%, silver by 16% and copper by 18%
effective Monday at the close.
Curious timing.
I don't know what mystery he's refering too, unless it's a mystery to him why brokers would want to limit their exposure at the end of a powerful run. How do we know it's the end? They're raising margins, that's how. Don't forget, these guys can see their client's books. They know how far out on a limb they are. I think Mr. Zero is confusing cause and effect.
The real mystery is why do we even have a futures market in gold and silver? They're not consumed in the sense of wheat, corn, lumber, cotton etc. nor are they negotiable in the sense of bonds or currencies. So what are they doing there? Whose idea was that?
