Tuesday, October 14
Japan producer price index.
Euro area industrial production, Germany's ZEW survey and inflation data from France, Italy and the U.K.
Earnings include: Amica Mature Lifestyles; Citigroup; CSX; Domino's Pizza; Healthcare Services; Intel; J.B. Hunt Transport Services; Johnson & Johnson; JPMorgan; Wells Fargo.
Wednesday, October 15
Japan industrial production.
China consumer price index. It's forecast to rise 1.7 per cent from a year ago, after rising 2 per cent in August.
Germany's consumer price index, and U.K. releases jobless numbers
(830 a.m. ET) Canada releases new motor vehicle sales for August, forecast to rise 7.0 per cent from a year ago.
(830 a.m. ET) U.S. releases retail sales for September, forecast to fall 0.1 per cent after gaining 0.6 per cent in August. Excluding autos, it's forecast to rise 0.3 per cent.
(830 a.m. ET) U.S. releases producer price index for September, forecast to rise 1.9 per cent from a year ago.
(830 a.m. ET) Empire State Manufacturing Survey, forecast to come in at 20.3.
(9 a.m. ET) Canada existing home sales tentatively scheduled. They are forecast to rise 6 per cent from a year ago, with average prices rising 5.3 per cent. The MLS home price index is also tentatively scheduled to be released; it's forecast to rise 5.3 per cent from a year earlier.
(10 a.m ET) U.S. releases business inventories for August, forecast to rise 0.4 per cent.
(2 p.m. ET) U.S. releases the Beige Book.
Earnings include: American Express Company; Bank of America; BlackRock; Charles Schwab; eBay; Kinder Morgan; Netflix; PNC Financial Services; St. Jude Medical.
Thursday, October 16
Euro area releases consumer price index and trade surplus data.
(830 a.m. ET) Canada releases manufacturing sales for August, forecast to drop 1.8 per cent after gaining 2.5 per cent in July. New orders are forecast by BMO to decline 0.5 per cent.
(830 a.m. ET) U.S. releases initial jobless claims for the previous week. The market is expecting an increase of 3,000 new claims to 290,000.
(915 a.m. ET) U.S. industrial production for September, forecast to rise 0.4 per cent. Capacity utilization is forecast to hold steady at 79.0 per cent.
(10 a.m. ET) U.S. National Association of Home Builders reveals its October housing market index. It is expected to hold steady at 59.
(10 a.m ET) Philadelphia Fed Index. Consensus is for a reading of 20.0.

(830 a.m. ET) Canadian consumer price index for September. Consensus is for a 2.1 per cent rise from a year ago. Core CPI is expected to rise by the same amount.
(830 a.m. ET) U.S. housing starts for September. Consensus expects a 4.6 per cent rise in the annualized rate to 1.0 million. Building permits are forecast to rise 3.2 per cent to 1.04 million.
(830 a.m. ET) Fed Chair Janet Yellen gives keynote address at the "inequality of Economic Opportunity" conference in Boston.
(955 am. ET) University of Michigan consumer sentiment index. Consensus is for a reading of 84.2.
