TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 27, 2010) - Active Control Technology Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ACT), a leading provider of advanced wireless communication, productivity and safety systems, is pleased to announce that Mr. Alexander (Al) Tolstoy has agreed to join its Board of Directors. Mr. Tolstoy is currently an investor and advisor to early stage ventures. Until 2005, Al was President & Chief Operating Officer of Telesystem International Wireless Inc. (TIW). He was also Chairman & CEO of both operating companies, Connex in Romania (1996 - 2006) and Oskar (1999 - 2006) in the Czech Republic and President & CEO of the European Regional Company, ClearWave (1999 - 2006). Both operations were very successful under Mr. Tolstoy's leadership and were sold to Vodafone for $4.4 Billion USD in June 2005. Al's experience includes senior executive roles with TIW, Bell Mobility (1987-1994) and senior management roles with Bell Canada and Bell Canada International.
