It seems Alliance and it's subsidiary developed a system that is MSHA approved and is installed in their mines. it's Matrix Design Metz 2.1. The cfo called it a wireless system but when I check out matrix it seems it is a wired system. I also looked into the fact that it is a pager system so the miners have to be able to text message after an accident. It seems this system is far below Act's system but it seems the mines are attempting to reach compliance by the cheapest and easiest route that MSHA and it's watered down legislation will allow. Until there is a shift in the culture at MSHA and in congress, we will continue to fight this uphill battle.
