| VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 6, 2009) - ALIX RESOURCES CORP. (TSX VENTURE:AIX) and GEO MINERALS LTD. (TSX VENTURE:GM) (The "Companies") announce that drill permits have been applied for to drill up to 12 holes at its Manitoba Coal Property bordering Goldsource Mines "Border" Property. As announced in Stockwatch on Nov. 5, 2008, in an agreement with a Saskatchewan-based private company, NuCoal Energy Corp., the companies have the right to acquire up to an 80-per-cent interest in 31,904 hectares (78,836.5 acres) of prospective coal ground adjoining Goldsource Mines Inc. Border Coal Discovery property which now has a drill program under way. The Companies have also applied for 10 additional holes in Saskatchewan at the Wapawekka Lake Property. A reconnaissance team visited the property in late '08 (announced November 3, 2008) to spot appropriate drill locations. The six coal outcrops occur over a 3.5-mile distance on the south shore of Wapawekka Lake within Lower Cretaceous stratigraphy. The first outcrops were discovered in 1909 with subsequent discoveries of outcrops made in the 1920s and 1930s by government of Canada geologists. A Department of Mineral Resources, province of Saskatchewan publication, titled, "Silica Sand and Coal Occurrences on Wapawekka Lake", by Mr. Pearson, 1961, contains descriptions of both the Wapawekka Lake outcrops and the Montreal Lake coal seams. It is reported that Worcester in 1909 trenched one outcrop for a distance of 17 feet and the seam increased from a thickness of 4.5 feet to 5.6 feet. On the east side of Montreal Lake, a 14-foot intercept at 630 feet and a 30-foot intercept at 720 feet were discovered in boreholes in the late 1950s. These two intercepts are approximately 17 kilometres apart. The companies have 250,398 acres covered by Coal Prospecting Permits, with another 159,334 acres in the Torch River area under option from Nucoal, and the Manitoba coal property covering 78,836 acres for a total acreage of 488,568 acres.
