In a different league relative to its competitors

Allana mentioned in this article here...

Quote - "really puts the company in a different league relative to its competitors."

The point I would make is the necessity for disruptive discoveries in food production and healthcare. These are areas that we are heavily involved in. Cancer technologies and therapies, stem cell technology and medical device innovations, as well as nutritional discoveries, are of great interest to both of us. (Editor's note: Click here to read Michael Berry's ideas on life science investing).

At present we are also interested and involved in fertilizer discovery. Two companies of interest to us are Arianne Phosphate (OTC:DRRSF) and Allana Potash Corp. (TO:AAA).

Arianne has developed a very large and unique phosphate resource in Quebec. The economics here are very compelling and as the major phosphate producers begin to scour the globe to add additional resources, Arianne must be on their radar. The company is greatly derisked in a number of ways and has shown the ability to deliver extremely attractive economics.

Allana has a large potash deposit in Ethiopia. Allana's recent announcement of a strategic alliance with ICL Fertilizers (ICL:TASE), one of the largest fertilizer producers in the world, really puts the company in a different league relative to its competitors. ICL entered into a share purchase agreement initially worth $25M and could be worth as much as $84M. An offtake is also in place here, which is another major differentiator. Africa is set to become much more sharply in focus with respect to commodity supply and demand. Investors would be doing themselves a favor by starting to learn about these dynamics.
