Advancing Base & Precious Metal Deposits in South America
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - (Marketwire - September 22, 2008) - Apoquindo Minerals Inc. ("Apoquindo" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE: AQM - News) (BVL: AQM) through its wholly owned subsidiary, Minera KoriTambo SAC, has initiated drilling at its Huarman gold-silver prospect in the Department of Ancash, Peru. The principal targets at Huarman are manto and cross-cutting high sulfidation breccias within the Calipuy Volcanics, host for the nearby Pierina Mine of Barrick. The results of the first two holes of an 8 hole (2200m) drill program are reported here:

The initial drilling has been concentrated within an east-dipping tabular polymictic volcanic breccia which crops out along a 500 meter strike length. This silicified and phyllically altered breccia exhibits high sulfidation characteristics. Previously reported rock sampling results (May 6, 2008) from surface and underground workings revealed elevated along the entire 500 meter strike length; 115 rock chip samples averaged 1.4 g/t Au and 36 g/t Ag. Because of the 5-10% of vein and disseminated pyrite associated with the mineralization, IP geophysics was chosen as a method of aiding the delineation of drill targets. The results of the IP were reported on July 16 of this year and drilling commenced in late July on combined geochemical/geophysical targets.
Drilling of the eight initial core holes will be completed before the end of September.
Regarding QA/QC, KoriTambo is currently inserting duplicates, standards and blanks according to National Instrument 43-101 standards for the surface sampling. Assays are performed by ALS Chemex in Peru.
Dr. Tom Henricksen, Chief Geologist of KoriTambo and the Company's Qualified Person for the purposes of NI 43-101 has approved the information contained in this news release.
