This ties in with the thought that we may see a Chinese firm make a move on ARU. Chinese investment in South America is large and rapidly increasing due to its need to secure raw material sources to feed its economy. They already have country to country oil deals with Venezuela and large mining investments in Brazil and Chile.
The Chinese are very good at quid pro quo and would probably be more than happy to 'assist' with major capital investments (airports, ports, etc) in return for favourable treatment say in.... mining! Whether or not this is good for us in terms of the potential value of ARU can be debated but is something that should be kept in mind.
