Correa is nothing if he isn't a great politician! He knows what his constituents...The People want to hear!

Correa has played his cards pretty good up to now...his threatening to quit every time someone disagrees with him causes fear that the country will revert back to its old ways,,,and none of "the people"want that to happen, so he gets his way!

He knows he needs the revenues from the miners just to get his social programs going....but like others have said on this board, in other parts of the world, haggling over the price is considered being polite!...If you don't, you are considered a Fool!

This is all part of the bargaining game that businesses have to go through in Third World countries.
