How can an "economist" slap a 70% windfall tax on mining activities or anything else for that matter. There has to be much more to this otherwise Ecuador will lose hundreds of millions in tax/royalty dollars. It will be very interesting to see how all this plays out. It makes you wonder what all these mining sessions with experts from Canada and other countries was all about. Hopefully Aurelian and/or other mining companies will come out with some clarification next week. This is a great great story and it would be a shame if it didn't come to fruition because of some idiotic government policy.
