Gold flirts with $900 Gold

For about 30 minutes gold was hovering just below $900/oz. It got to $899.9 before pulling back to the low $890's. Gold didn't have any problem with the heavily hyped $875 resistance level but $900 seems to be a little tougher to crack. Then again a $50 gain in 9 days isn't to shabby. It will be interesting to see how things go tonight in Asia in response to the US Fed discussion around a rate cut at the end of the month.

Each ARU share is now worth about 0.15 oz of AU in-situ (20 million ounces/133.244 million shares). Think about it. You own a good chunk of gold even if its still in the ground. Some of you own the equivalent of many many 400 oz bars (Every 10,000 shares equals 1,500 ounces or 3.75 of those shiny 400 oz standard Gold Bars).

At $900 gold that 0.15 oz is worth $135 per share before deductions. Knock off a hypothetical 5% royalty, $227 mining & processing costs and 30% corporate taxes and we are talking about $65/share.

Nice to be an ARU shareholder even if I feel like a Yo-Yo sometimes.
