We now know short sales allowed on the way down in the US since June 2007 but still not sure if the following rule is still in effect on the TSE as it appears to be dated mid 2006. Can anyone clarify or give a more recent reference so we can be up to date?
PART 3 – SHORT SELLING
3.1 Restrictions on Short Selling
(1) Except as otherwise provided, a Participant or
Non-Dealer Subscriber shall not make a short sale
of a security on a marketplace unless the price is at or above the last sale price.
