Well, I guess we'll see if he runs then. As a tactic it might make sense - have an election before the opposition has a chance to organize and the price of rice doubles (which it will). Maybe they'll even be foolish enough to run Noboa again? I wonder what that poll would say if they took it today though? I don't think Correa has nearly the support now as when that article was written. Jaime Nesbot is the guy to watch if we do have another election. As mayor of Guyaquil he's very popular, and with the fear this mining mandate has generated in the south, he just might win. It would ba a narrow victory is my guess, and still no telling what the Congress would look like, although I doubt we'd see as many AP seats.

Damn it... I hate politics in Canada and here I am trying to call an election in Ecuador? I might as well go down there and run myself for all the good it will do.
