Is this some posters idea of a sick joke? Correa and/or Accosta ( we're not really sure who is in charge here)have ordered all mining activities ceased , which naturally will terminate all jobs associated with those mining activities and someone on this board has suggested that WE contribute to an unemployment fund? HAHAHA. Fearless would have a field day with this. The Government made this ridiculous decision so let them deal with the unemployment payments or bear the full brunt of the anger by the workers and the unemployed!

You're missing the essential point. We are not in Canada, we are in Ecuador, where a different set of social relations exists. Aurelian is aware of this and has decided to maintain its workforce at half-wages, which is generous, and will be regarded as such by the people we DEPEND ON MOST to make things happen: The Shuar People of Zamora-Chinchipe. Don't forget, this is their land we are on, and their future that we're participating in. Reciprocity and mutual respect is part of their social order, and I'm glad to see Aurelian recognizes this. That takes the burden off us, since they are acting on our behalf.

As for Mr. Hahaha, if he understood anything of what I just said, he'd still be here, so I don't think his opinion really matters in this instance.
