CONAI wants the indigenous peoples to have complete control over natural resource exploitation in each of their areas. The organization has organized protests in the past against petroleum development. The organization is basically socialist in its aims and works with the environmental NGO's. I think that their stand on mining is like Alberto Acosta's, "mining if necessary but not necessarily mining".
