A Transitional National Assembly is the name the president of the Constituent Fernando Cordero, yesterday used to refer to 'Congresillo' to be installed if approved the new constitution.

Lamb explained that this instance will assume the functions of the Legislative Council to hold new assembly (deputies), possibly in April 2009.

The installation of the transitional assembly would be put to the vote at the referendum on the new Constitution, and would operate in Quito formed by the current assembly who, according to Lamb, may participate in the general elections after submitting his resignation to that dignity.

Lamb said being considered the possibilities of their integration, but suggested it could be 65 more assembly voted, but within Country Agreement is known to be 39 or 45.

But the transitional assembly will maintain the same proportionality that the current Assembly.
