The Constituent Assembly of Ecuador has granted 120 amnesties, to two days to complete their duties, to citizens who were prosecuted for carrying out protests against the mining and petroleum, on Wednesday informed the press secretary of that institution.

With assembly less than usual because the minority decided not to attend recent meetings on the grounds that his job was writing articles for the twenty country's Constitution and not to adopt other rules, the 120 were granted amnesties.

With 85 votes in favour of 88 present a total of 130 assembly, most related to movement official, Country Alliance, was granted amnesties to citizens who staged various protests to defend their territories.

The community leaders claim that the oil and mining projects which seek to settle near their properties infringe on natural resources such as streams of water that used to prepare their food and make their personal hygiene.

Although it did not specify which sectors will benefit the resolution and against which companies and projects were carried out protests, indicated that most detainees were "criminalized for defending nature."

According to the Assembly beneficiaries are people living in cities in the Andes and the Amazon where are located most often the mining and oil companies.

The consent of amnesties given four months after the forum that granted amnesty to 357 human rights activists accused of starring protests against the mining operation.

The assembly also discussed until late at night that the transition mechanism between the term used in the Assembly and the upcoming elections, which, if approved the constitution in a referendum next September, may be submitted to the current re-election Head of State.

In the transitional regime Assembly plans to appoint a "Congresillo" composed of 39 assembly to make the times of the legislature and restructure the Supreme Court (CSJ).

Tomorrow, the plenary of the Assembly intends to approve the transitional regime that caused discomfort in the minority because it ensures the creation of a "Congresillo" and restructuring the Supreme Court, is a project "abusive".

The next Thursday, the House voted on the 444 articles adopted as part of the new Constitution, and on Friday made a closing ceremony involving the president, Rafael Correa.
