well we wanted some excitement...

ok...here's my thought process at the moment

first of all, all you bashers that appeared for the first time this morning, keep your heads nice and high, I'll get around to you

all the longs that want to say "I told you so", go somewhere else...

we don't have time for that crap right now

...we always said there would be a bidding war

and when the first bid comes along...everyone panics

if there isn't another bid...this is criminal.....but

lets try to be logical

would anyone have guessed Kinross would be the one buying ARU?

No...but they might have had a CA, and management might be close

Does the first bidder usually get the prize? No...

so what would Kinross get out of being a pawn in all this?

$43 million in break out fees? and what is 43 million in a deal of this magnitiude....nothing in the end

why do a private placement with the very company you are buying???????????????????

15 million shares at $4.75???? whether the deal goes through or not

Kinross gets the right of first refusal on better bids? seems they are thinking ahead

if ARU did not 'accept' the deal the majors would have no deadline to have to bid against...they would just sit back and wait

now they must sh*t or get off the pot

can Barrick or Newmont explain to their shareholders...we didn't really need 20 mm oz. especially at such a low price....?

have management all of a sudden gotten lobotomies?

hell anything is possible

but I'll be watching for bid #2, just as we were hoping for

and reading further as the day goes on

all the best

safeharbour
