Ya this was posted before but it reminded me I wanted to make a comment on the following :

"This shows that the image of the country abroad is positive in terms of foreign investment," Chiriboga told Reuters in a telephone interview. "This is a negotiation between two private companies in which the state has no role."

Chiriboga says the state has no role (Ecuador likes to have a role in everything) but Tye Burt said in his press conference that Kinross has spent significant time in Ecuador meeting with Senior Government officials.

I guess Chiriboga doesn't consider this a "role".

The lies over the past few days are too numerous to keep track of.

What is it that your mother always told you....if you're going to do something make sure you do it well. So for all the players in this deal....if you're going to tell a bold faced lie at least try to be convincing.
