What does all that stuff you posted have to do with the price of butter?

Don't know what it has to do with butter - all I was trying to illustrate with the "stuff" about BMO was that they (all most of the other large banks here) have traders that take take positions on various equities, commodities etc. the goal is to make $s. I don't know if todays trading activity by BMO is strictly for their clients or themselves or a mix. However to suggest that it is ONLY for retail clients is wrong.

BTW, how do I know this - 2 associates that I used to work with in this business now work for BMO in that capacity. Another now works for TD and another 2 work for RBC.
