Jim Puplava was asked about the takeover in the Q-calls part of this weekend´s broadcast of his Financial Sense Newshour. I think it was the 2nd question in the section. He states that he is unable to make a comment as he is a significant shareholder - according to the latest Puplava Financial Services filing he (or his company) owns 1,700,450 shares. But he then adds the following - the the bid is at a 48% discount to the price of gold which he blames on the political uncertainty. He also later mentions a 1.7million short position which has to be covered. He seemed rather resigned to the takeover or is holding his cards close to his chest.
Ironically, in the previous section of the show he had been talking about takeover bids leading to counter-bids and then to a bidding frenzy. Let´s hope this happens here and he is just being careful. I believe that he knows Keith Barron - if this is true it may also account for his carefully guarded comments. Can anyone confirm this?
Sorry if I´m not adding anything new - I´ve been away and have only just found out details about the derisory offer and like everyone I`m not thrilled.
