"The really ugly figure thrown up by Newmont Mining Corporation on cash operating costs for its global mining operations related to the half owned Super Pit in Kalgoorlie which through a production slide is now clearly headed as the country's biggest gold producer.
Gold sold for the quarter was 63,000 oz from Kalgoorlie and cash operating costs for this was put at $US860/oz, with half year cash costs put at $US817/oz."
