I agree with him. An election is coming and they don't want to see "yes" votes turn to "no" votes from the poverty striken citizens who feel they should "stick it to the man".

Pandering to the masses can only take you so far. If you go back on your word too often, people will become angry and a new Pander Bear will appear to take your place.

I believe it was Gustave Flaubert who said, "the two most common elements in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity." What he should have said is: the two most common elements in the universe are stupidity and pander bears.
