Record Date: 2008-OctA Reports Close 09 of Oct08. Record Date: 2008-OctB will be Reported 24Oct08. eBear said these must be Collared transactions. Meaning as I understand it to be - The shs have been Sold Short but covered by a Long Position perhaps in another Acct of a Fund. As of 24Sept08 (2008-Sept24B) the Short was 4,998,900. They covered 1,297500 between 24Sept08 to 09Oct08 but are still witholding 3,701,400 ARU shs. They can't trade them in the Marketplace so ebear must be correct presuming it's a Collared transaction covered by shs held in another Acct/Fund. If so, I'm wondering then what the purpose of this is and why wouldn't they cover the entire Short. I'm presuming the nightly valuation is the price at which they Shorted. By not covering and submitting by 29Sept08 they appear to me to be Dissident Sh/hldrs unless they flatten the trade and submit prior to 20Oct08. If Dissident, you'd think they would have advertised for others to join them. Maybe not possible if others aren't in the same Jurisdiction. Obviously too deep for me but it would be interesting to learn the reasoning for leaving this position outstanding. It will be interesting to see the Short Position on the net Reporting Date being the Close 24Oct08. |
