Here are my common stocks as of yesterday. I have been doing a lot of trading since January in Bank stocks and have gotten in and out of CIBC, National, Washington Mutual, Lloyds, Visa. These were all short term and made some money on each. It has worked quite well so far and the downside was I was willing to have these as long term holds if I had to. The only one I dont really like is Citibank but I am still underwater on it.
I timed my exits and made sure I recieved the dividend on each of the banks.
The RBS one is new yesterday. It has a 12.8% yeild and only trades at 4.7PE. I got in at $7.15 buying the ADR on new york.
The resources are the ones I am hoping to get a big lift on. The other stocks are for income.
The stocks are about 40% of my portfolio.
The balance is 25% fixed income and 35% in a private company that I own and have presold at a defined multiple of earnings in 2012.
I'm trying to get in on BXI-X, Bioextraction company but it very illiquid and I cant get in at my price yet.
I am enjoying the other posts here as it may give some ideas. I have been watching timminco, first solar and arise. (A friend of mine is involved with arise) but I am concerned about a glut of silicone in 2009 and the valuaations on some of these scare me.
