VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 8, 2009) - NOT FOR DISTRIBUTION TO UNITED STATES NEWS WIRE SERVICES FOR DISSEMINATION IN THE UNITED STATES Aurizon Mines Ltd. (TSX:ARZ)(NYSE Alternext US:AZK)(NYSE Amex:AZK.A) (the "Company") has announced today that it has entered into an agreement with a syndicate of underwriters led by National Bank Financial, (the "Underwriters"), under which the Underwriters have agreed to purchase, on a bought deal basis by way of a short form prospectus, 9,708,800 Common Shares (the "Common Shares") at a price of $5.15 per Common Share (the "Issue Price") for gross proceeds of $50,000,320. The Company has granted the Underwriters an option, for a period of 30 days following the closing of the offering, to purchase up to an additional 15% of the Offering at the Issue Price to cover over-allotments, if any. The net proceeds of the offering will be used for working capital, potential acquisitions, and general corporate purposes. The offering is expected to close on or about April 29, 2009 and is subject to the Company receiving all necessary regulatory approvals.
