Message: Baja Mining eyes $1bn manganese upside at Boleo

"In a 2010 update to its Boleo feasibility study, Baja Mining only considered copper, cobalt and zinc production, but not manganese. As configured without manganese, Baja Mining plans to produce 84 million pounds copper, 3.6 million pounds zinc and 28,400 tonnes zinc a year over a 23-year minelife. "

I believe the target for Copper is 120 million pounds per year, and the 3.6 million pounds is for cobalt.

Manganese could add another $100 million to the bottom line, if it works. I spoke to the engineer assigned to do the manganese circuit and he was optomistic.

Lets get into production first before we start a new business.
