Contract Allows Company to Continue Working on Special Projects
HOUSTON -- (Business Wire)

Boots & Coots International Well Control, Inc. (NYSE Alternext US: WEL), announced it has renewed its Safeguard contract with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation of India (ONGC) for an additional five years. The contract is for training, inspection and blowout control for ONGC’s 28 offshore rigs and 94 land rigs. The contract also allows Boots & Coots to work on special projects for ONGC, both in and outside India.

“We believe our success in India, as well as Northern Africa, is due to our philosophy of being more than just a vendor, but rather a trusted advisor to our customers,” said Jerry Winchester, chief executive officer of Boots & Coots. “Our innovation, experience and engineering expertise allow us to work on a broad range of petroleum related issues to ensure the safety, integrity and productivity of India’s petroleum infrastructure.”

Boots & Coots recently completed a well control secure and salvage project for ONGC off the coast of India, which involved finding and killing a well in 2600 feet of water using a remote operating vehicle and recovering the 18¾” 10,000 pound blowout preventor. Boots & Coots has already mobilized on its next project, which is acting as the general contractor for surveying pipeline in preparation for the largest undersea oil and gas pipeline in the region.

“We believe we will have the opportunity to work on several unique projects for ONGC throughout 2009, challenging projects that will continue to strengthen Boots & Coots’ brand and establish us as the leader in well intervention and pressure control services worldwide,” concluded Winchester.
