Message: BOWMORE Intersect 40.5 Meters at 0.51 g/t Au & 3.7 g/t Ag,
Including 9.7 Meters at 1.11 g/t Au & 8.8 g/t Ag. at Nueva Escondida Property in Mexico

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 13, 2011) - BOWMORE Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BOW) (the "Company") is pleased to announce an update of its drill campaign and exploration activities on the Nueva Escondida Property, located in the State of Sonora, Mexico.

The Property composed of 9 claims covering 6,200 hectares is located in the foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental gold belt ("SMO") and was optioned from AMEX Exploration Inc. (AMX: TSX-V) in May 2010 (see news release (NR) dated July 12, 2010).

The drill program was completed September 17th, and consisted of 8 diamond drill holes for a total of 1561.8 meters. The objective of the drill program was to target the `Rodeo Zone`` a large area of anomalous gold-silver and polymetallic described in the NR dated May 19th 2011. The program has intersected favorable altered limestone and carbonaceous sediments in addition of variable breccias and silicified porphyritic felsic intrusive. The geology, alteration and mineralization remains generally identical to what was previously mapped on surface (see NR 19-05-11). Assay Results received to date are summarized in table 1.

Although we have only received results for the first 4 holes, the best results to date are from hole NE2011-04 which intersected three different gold bearing intervals hosted in altered and/or brecciated intrusive and sediments. The most significant intersect is the third gold bearing zone that returned 40.5 meters at 0,51 g/t Au and 3,7 g/t Ag (including 9.5 m. at 1.11 g/t Au and 8.8 g/t Ag), with a higher grade section of 1.6 meter at 3,08 g/t Au and 28 g/t Ag associated with a jasperoidal interval. The first gold bearing intersect is located at the beginning of the hole into a breccia within the intrusive that bears some characteristics of a diatreme breccia that is typical of some large disseminated gold deposit (Table 1 summarizes the assay results of the first 4 holes).

Mr. Paul Dumas, President and CEO of Bowmore Exploration Ltd., stated: "We are pleased to see the initial results of the Nueva Escondida drill campaign, although the drill program only consisted of approximately 1600 meters to test this large zone. We are enthusiastic of these results and look forward to the results of the final 4 holes.

The fact that, the drill program has intersected three different type of gold and polymetallic mineralizations in one single hole (hole NE-11-04), demonstrates that the hydrothermal system that mineralized the area was most probably multiple and long lasting, evidencing conditions that are needed to create mineralized deposits.

The cores have been subject to descriptive logging and systematic sampling for analysis. All drill core samples were cut in half, with one half delivered to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Duplicates, blanks and standards were inserted into the sample sequence. All samples were prepared and analyzed at the facilities of ALS Chemex Hermosillo, Mexico. The processed samples were submitted to a standard Fire Assay with AA technique (Au-AA-24) on a 50 gram sub-sample and Inductively Coupled Plasma Emission Spectroscopy (ME-ICP-41).
