John Robins, P.Geo.
Chairman
Mr. Robins is a registered professional geologist based in Vancouver, BC, and has over 25 years of experience as an independent exploration geologist and entrepreneur. John Robins graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1984 with a BSc in Geology. Since graduation, he worked mainly as a self employed prospector and claim staker in BC, Yukon, North West Territories and Nunavut Territory. In 1988, he became one of the founders of Hunter Exploration Group (“Hunter”), one of Canada’s most successful private exploration companies. Since inception, Hunter has been active in almost every jurisdiction in Canada, as well as USA, Mexico and Chile, conducting self funded regional exploration and staking programs. Hunter’s work has pioneered regional prospecting in some of the most challenging regions in Canada; from the Iskut Region of BC to Ellesmere Island in Nunavut. Often using unconventional techniques, this regional exploration resulted in several new discoveries and follow-up exploration expenditures in excess of $100 million. In Nunavut, Hunter’s work led to the discovery of several new kimberlite fields and the eventual recognition of the diamond potential of the Eastern Arctic – an area now the primary focus of diamond exploration in North America. Hunter continues to fund and conduct exploration programs throughout Canada. In addition to Hunter exploration, John Robins is a founder of the Discovery Group of Companies and also sits on the board of directors of several successful TSX-V listed junior exploration companies.
