CMC Metals Ltd. Announces Test Mining Bulk Sample at the Silver Hart Mine Site 9:55 AM ET, September 22, 2009 Sep 22, 2009 (TheNewswire.ca via COMTEX) -- (via Thenewswire.ca) Vancouver, B.C.: CMC Metals Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to announce that during trenching in the TM pit, a bulk sample of an estimated 1590 tonnes was stockpiled. The purpose of the bulk sample was to test the productivity and equipment capability to selectively extract the identified ore grade material. It was found that the equipment configuration that was planned for the mining operation is sufficient to meet and exceeded the productivity that was anticipated. There was additional dilution to the run-of-mine stockpiles (TM SP#1, 2) due to the bucket size being larger than originally planned. Pit head grade control protocols were also tested using the Niton portable XRF XLt3 analyzer. A separation of run-of-mine grade material (TM SP#1, 2), low grade stockpile base material (TM LG#1) and waste confirmed the in pit grade control protocols are sufficient to identify and meet the mine recovery rates. The following is the laboratory assays for the various stockpiles. Sampling of the stockpiles is by using a systematic grid system to determine the sample location. Each stockpile had sufficient number of sub samples collected to give a composite representative sample. Tonnage calculation was by comparative back calculation of the excavated trench using an insitu bank density of 3.0 tonnes per bank cubic metre, and a swell factor of 1.25: *TM LG#1 are XRF assays and are for indicative purposes only and should not be relied upon until laboratory assays are conducted. Differences between the XRF assays reported in the September 23rd, 2008 news release and the above laboratory assays is due to the instrumentation error and the comparison between insitu assays versus a homogenized composite laboratory sample assay. ACME Analytical Laboratories Ltd. in Vancouver conducted sample preparation and analysis. Sample analysis was by 7AR digest, and analyzed by ICP-ES method. Silver results are by fire assay and gravimetric finish. Standard samples and blanks were used for quality assurance and quality control for sample analysis.
