Here is a small clip from VOCM this morning. Not really anything new but it seems that the attention is starting to gather for the Port au Port. Every week or so we seem to be making the papers....only time will tell if we are really news worthy.

"Western Newfoundland is getting a lot of attention for an unconventional resource play in the oil and gas industry. Shale is a very fine grained sedimentary rock associated with oil and gas, and there could be a lot of it in the Port Au Port area. Kirby Mercer with Canadian Imperial Venture Corporation says as a result of new technologies, a number of shale deposits are being developed in North America, with the closest to home being Quebec. Canadian Imperial, and its partners, will be spending about $6 million dollars in the coming weeks drilling at Shoal Point in Port au Port. Mercer says the area has the potential for up to $5.2 billion barrels of oil.
