After investigating the second Merck Agreement whereby Cardiogenics will collaborate to use Merck's biological-linking technology to paramagnetic beads that Merck will sell; feed back from experts in the manufacturing of antibodies inform that due to regulatory issues such beads "... regardless of their ability to increase yields in antibody manufacturing" will not be used in the manufacturing of currently approved antibody drugs. Use of Merck's beads by manufacturers of currently approved antibodies will necessitate development work as the manufacturing process has been approved using a different, usually stationary chomotography, technology.

Consequently, CGNH will not be the receiptient of any significant revenue stream from these beads in the near future.
