Historic Discovery Along Porcupine Destor Fault
This is a smart approach, the Osisko folks will get a quick sense of where to focus further drilling first AND more importantly they will know to what extent the body of the syenite porphyry is mineralized along the length of its strike through the Beattie and Donchester Mines. Drilling released here and on Feb 18th. illustrates that this ground is far from barren!
Google earth with the CoreBox drill hole locations makes placing these new holes easy in the overall picture, as close as I can tell. Holes 111 and 112 are located due north of Duparquet close to a N-S road. This is the furthest east of this "sweep"ing picture and narrow intercepts of typical grade are encountered. Holes 113 and 114 are located in the "belly button" group of holes released Feb 18th, with similar intercepts. Holes 117 and 118are located on the western end of the drilling and hosts shallow 108meters at 4 grams gold, now all of that gets my attention.
A way of viewing this NR and the response to it... this drilling is widely spaced at 400 meters and only a small number of holes have been reported on the target, this middle ground is a "new" target. There is plenty of ground to drill yet and IMO too early to draw any conclusions.
How would one picture viewing these initial results, announced in 2 News Releases as if it was a new play?OK... over 1200 meters of strike, most holes had gold intercepts in multiple gram range, intercepts 20 meters wide,108 meters wide at 4 grams per tonne close to the surface? It might catch some attention.
News should flow from here on with eight drills turning.
