I'm no expert on shorting, never done it never will..As far as moving it to off-topic forum..Can you tell me how a conversation on how short selling CLL stocks has effected the Sp is off topic? Is it not relative to CLL?

Simple,, did you not see the graph posted by another member..the red bars showed downward pressure,, the closer the end of steam came the more red bars. I"M not an expert ( somebody please correct me if I'm wrong) Downward pressure is created by lowering the buy bids, as upward pressure is by raising the buy bids.
Since shorts make money by SP falling then they will only bid downward,,which of course is countered by higher bids from those trying to keep the SP up.. Which is why you have low volume until bad news happens..
BTW SP can easily be held in place by errecting a huge sell or buy order that can't be filled, I think they call them walls.
I stand by my theory as it applies to CLL.
