Following review perhaps we may have a basis for discussion ,Brian
Brian, I will remind you one more (last )time. I was the first who presented the Convertible Arbitrage idea to both SH CLL boards more then a year ago in the response to OILBENT questions. I was familiar with this strategy discussed on income trust board long time ago.
Please read the Marketbiggy definition you are referring to and check this link bellow provided by rebels. You will find there comprehensive study on this strategy apply to Canadian Markets.
This is a very short term strategy used by hedge funds. Hedging activities take place, just before and short time after the Convertible issue is closed. Most gains are realized in first 20 trading days. Hedge funds do not have long term commitments to their positions. For successful trade they looking for issues which have good daily volumes and options(Call/Put). CLL debenture trading activity is almost none as well as you can`t trade CLL options.
If you are still not convinced and want to use the convertible arbitrage to release your stress related to CLL SP feel free to do it.
After all our health is most important thing in our life.
