Well, they went and did it!

Our US House of Representatives, yesterday, voted to allow no offshoe drilling outside of the Gulf of Mexico, where it has been in existance for a number of years. They also said no to drilling in the eastern portion of Alaska. Even though we know there are hundreds of billions of barrels of oil in our surrounding waters and Alaska. Meanwhile, the Chinese and Cubans have a project on going in the Straits of Florida. Another area where our people are not allowed to drill.

Our inept, uninformed, and yes, stupid politicians are therefore saying "let someone else supply it". Canada, you are darn foolish if you don't make us pay through the nose for the oil while you can. I truly doubt the people of the US will go along with this bit of stupidity the first time they see a gallon of gas priced at eight dollars. Or even worse, have to stand in line for an hour or two to get it. Well do I remember when we had to do that during the Arab Oil embargo of 1973. ( Yes, I am really that old)

Though not really surprised to have again the stupidity of our legislators pointed out, I am truly embarrased as a US Citizen for my country. These people have no sense of honor, integrity or self reliance. Something we used to lead the world in. Our leaders have now demonstrated that they are as irresponsible as many of the people they lead!
