As a US citizen, nothing would make me happier than getting even with the "greedy pigs" which have pilllaged our economic system and wasted our capital. Unfortunately, the problems are systemic and not just limited to greedy CEO's, politicans and Wall Street types.
The problems extend to greedy politicans with their wasteful spending and self serving deals. It also extends to greedy speculators of both corporate and individuals who speculated on home ownership and the financing thereof.
With corruption and abuse so wide spread, we could spend the entirety of our resources, both financial, intellectual and emotional on endless prosecution. Yet, some example must be drawn.
In my opinon, we should select some of the more egregious examples of societal victimization and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law as well as deprivation of their ill gotten assets. Will this satisfy everyone? Of course not. Yet it will provide the framework for lessons which need to be learned by the society at large.
Meanwhile, the society at large needs to start dealing with our systemic problems of needed resources. Capital, intellectual and skills. Oil and energy supply being one of them.
Time to get on creatively with our lives and provide for the future and management thereof.
