Sharky there were some excellent posts a while back regarding the pumps, 2C in particular was very helpful. Sometimes the pumps are a good idea, sometimes not. Good point about going over the 10k bpd average; that indeed looks very probable.

From 2C: "it is generally considered if the reservior won't hold pressure and a lower one must be considered in order to maximize the efficiency of the well. they can also be put in towards the end of the wells life to recover more oil than would be possible with gas lift, extending the operating time.

there is no way to know 100% until the well is put online. sometimes a precurser is loss of circulation when drilling, but not always.

pumps are expensive, so no point wasting capital on something that may not be needed."

By the way, I also wondered how someone can sleep on 2 ears at once?
