I agree, Americans , like Canadians will never shift closer to their jobs. Most people left the big cities for a variety reasons, one of them being the doughnut effect. What i predict is you'll see employers moving towards where the people prefer to live. In Toronto where property and business taxes are steep, many companies are relocating to the burbs.
