Don't know nothing about Canadian politics but like most and also here it's always a matter of power between parties.Most of these elected guys are more concerned about their own legacy then for the countries best issues.

CLL seems holding strong despite recent drop in oil price.Could that be something to do with the Nexen deal recently posted here?
